Since 1997 Yehudi has been touring fishing camps researching shark fishing and learning about the problem regarding the overexploitation of this resource.
In 2000 she toured several shark fishing camps in the Baja California Sur, Mexico with the support of the UABCS. Her continued research on shark fishing has allowed her to learn more about the dynamics of the fishery and the problem behind the demand in the market.
She has been Head of the Dept. of Aquatic Resources Assessment of the ARAP, where she represented Panama before various international organizations related to shark issues. Her field work includes sampling of landings in fishing ports, and research outings in artisanal and industrial vessels.
